  1. Agree with Ray. I never store mine with out converting to non-ethanol fuel. I run the engine for several minutes to make sure it is circulated the whole way thru the fuel lines and into the engine. For those who cant get non-ethanol fuel at a local station you can buy it from VP Racing - Vintage fuels in 5 gallon containers. Since doing this I don't have rust forming in the tank over the winter.
  2. I am interested in buying if still available. Send me your payment details and I will give you my address.
  3. Here is a picture of the speakers (only picture I have..not very good) that came with the car back in 1974. I think all 2002's in the USA had their radios and speakers installed by the dealer. Back then I told the dealer I didn't want any cut-outs so since I had ordered a Blaupunkt stereo in the car they installed matching Blaupunkt speakers on the rear shelf. When I restored my car I had the speakers restored and put back on the shelf as delivered to me in 1974. They aren't pretty but they are original if you are interested is keeping everything period correct. I have seen these come up on Ebay occasionally.
  4. Factory placement on my 74tii is the same as Carl's...mine has been restored but I have pictures before the restoration that show it in the same location.
  5. Jim...stop by and I will take you for a ride. I store this in a garage that I rent so it wasn't at the house when you were here last.
  6. This is a 1965 Ford Fairlane 500 coupe, 289 4 barrel, factory 4 speed, all original, 44,000 miles. It is unbelievable how fast this little 289 is.
  7. I cant's say this compliments my tii but I love it....
  8. Here is another pic of your car...click on the link and it is about 5 pics down.... https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/mid-atlantic/401660-2017-katie-s-cars-coffee-thread-great-falls-va-3.html
  9. Hagerty insured my 74 tii several years ago for $75K with only a few pictures. Last week I asked them to bump my insurance to $120K. They told me that I needed to send detailed pictures and pictures of it in garage space. I have 3 cars and a motorcycle insured thru them and they never give me a problem increasing my insurance when I ask them.
  10. Thanks John....looks like I was missing the "D" when doing my search. Maybe this should be added to the wheel database.
  11. Steve...I was looking through my wheel stash and couldn't find this wheel in the data base. The name on the wheel is "SUDRA". Has anyone heard of this manufacture before?
  12. Just came across this. Very nice 2002's. You can roam all around the showroom with your mouse. Copy and paste link below. https://www.google.com/maps/@52.2121836,8.7270726,3a,75y,135.44h,72.84t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1s-_Q41ZycO5FA%2FWUwgp9JWtiI%2FAAAAAAAArQE%2FjLdTP-xIRbwib_-kVmmVLEaLbwzqqVBZACLIBGAYYCw!2e4!3e12!7i10000!8i5000
  13. Here are 2 pictures of my friends 2002Lux. He said it was a trim package and not a separate sub-model. This one is an Italian Lux.
  14. Good questions Steve....I will research......
  15. Steve...I can get you photos and numbers. I have a good friend that a perfect 2002LUX in his garage.
  16. Very nice. This will be a great Data Base. I didn't see the 2002Lux. I could have missed it.
  17. I know Bruce and his car. One of the only a few truly original tii's I have seen. He helped me out last year at a local car show and put my tii into his 18 wheeler and took it home for me. Great guy and great car. Well deserved award! I just wish he could see it on here. I will email him a link because I know he isn't on the forum.
  18. Wow. It sold for $125,000.00. The seller probably broke even.
  19. Anyone see the 2002 on TV? Last week one showed up on CBS' show "Training Day".
  20. So we have seen Round, Square Metal and Square Plastic relays in cars that are all original and not restored. I guess I am going to print this entire topic out and keep a copy in my glove compartment
  21. Steve...here is my 74tii's info...I dont know the other 74tti's info.... The BMW 2002 tii US VIN 2782393 was manufactured on July 16th, 1974 and delivered on August 12th, 1974 to the BMW importer Hoffman Motors Corp. in New York City. The original colour was Amazaonsgrün, paint code 076. We hope this information is helpful for you. Yours sincerely, Julia Oberndörfer
  22. Tom, You certainly did help me a lot. I think the easiest thing to do is to put on a set of square relays so there will be no problems. I just wanted to be sure which ones were correct and I think we can say that this is about 95% conclusive. I will still keep investigating until the last 5% is explained Mike
  23. Thanks.....and thanks to all who helped with this thread.....Mike
