    Paul, You are right on. I got it at metric mechanic along with one of there "ultimate Swaybars". I guess I should consult with them to see if I thought maybe one of the vacuum advance distributors might be a better match for this setup. The sidedrafts had no throttled vacuum port, hence the full centrifufal 008 used for those. I thought that there was more advance to be had with the vacuum advance types, maybe helping my problem.

    Does anybody know if the 008 is a good match for the 40/40 carb. I had it with my 45DCOE's and didnt know if it had the right advance for this app. I have a Korman worked head with a mild cam and 9.3 pistons with a Tii exhaust manifold. It seemed to have a big flat spot. I am just getting back into my 76 2002 that I have owned since new. I have had it in storage for about 14 years now and want to get it back in shape. I am enthused reading about all the folks here in this community and I have been meaning to tear into my baby and make it new again with some enhancements. It needs a gas tank and new fenders and various rust repairs but is in otherwise decent shape. I originally took it to its first CCA Oktoberfest in 1982 and its first drivers school with the NJ chapter in 1978. Needless to say I have fond memories of time spent in this car. Looking forward to posting some pics. Thanks
