  1. Nice mock-ups. What is the original color? I lean towards keeping early cars closer to stock in appearance, but I also like period correct mods like Alpina flares and two tone paint jobs (like you mocked up.) My only suggestion is to leave the turbo flares for the square light cars. Not that it looks bad, It's just one of those little nuances I carry around. 2. I give credit for the OP using the correct model 114 vs. E10. [emoji106]
  3. I had a BNR 90 amp alt. I kept my voltage regulator...in a box with other junk I don't need. I've since upgraded to a Bosch 90Amp alternator from an 84-85 318i. Best thing about it is the adjusting nut. Adjusting the belt is a piece of cake. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  7. Thanks for the write up Lars. I just went through this with a set of Classic C Recaros. It was very difficult to access the torsion spring. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Main differences are the motors of course. 1600's didn't have sway bars in the U.S. I'm guessing neither did 1502's. I would jus concentrating on finding the best shell. You'll be swapping/upgrading most of the parts anyways. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  13. I thought I was crazy for thinking $1850 for a rebuilt transmission was reasonable. Used ones are 600-750 nowadays, and those are gambles. GLWS OP. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  15. I think it's pretty rare to have the dash (steering column pad) VIN match the fender, since they are removable and have been swapped out in a lot of 02s. The fender plaque is sketchy. Maybe they matched it to the dash? There is another VIN stamped onto a fender(?) but it might be covered by paint. If it's an original motor the VIN should match. It's on the short block. I agree it also looks Fjord and not Pastelblau. Why does it have a salvage title? If it has no rust and minimal body filler I'd say it looks like a 6500-8500 car. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  17. I've got a few decals committed so far. On my hood (not pictured) are BMW ALPINA decals, and on the rear quarter windows are a Camel GT, and Bosch Spark Plugs decal. Hanging on the wall is this Lauda 1600ti number plate I reproduced. Can't get myself to slap it on though. [emoji19] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  22. I see the color was Colorado before you added the flares. Did you repaint it Inka after installing? Or is it just the lighting? Looks good either way. What is else is planned? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Very cool, and in my neck of the woods. Was VA Autobahn a dealer? I'm not in the market for another 02, but always have an eye out for parts if you have any Artboakrill. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
