  18. All - I got the car running with 2842 pertronix. Pertronix tech support swears that this is the correct unit based on my dizzy 231-188-002. I may have had a wiring issue. The i needed to remove the old black wire from the coil. The timing was way out of whack and the engine sputtered. I timed it by ear and it smoothed out. I turned it a good 1/4 inch counterclockwise. I will roadtest it this weekend.
  19. Hmm - my car is not a tii. Why woud someone put a tii dizzy in it? I thought they spun in the opposite direction? Todd

  21. 1976 2002 (Not Tii). Korman stage 2 motor with dual Webers
  22. I started the convert to Pertronix electronic ignition this weekend and have stumbled. I thought it would be easy - Haaa. The car has a Korman motor and the distributor is not believed to be stock. Its part number 0-231188 - 002. Pertronix support stated that i need Ignitor #2842 and that is what i am using. I installed it into the distributor and it lines up correctly. When i go to start the car, it would not start. The manual states that the coil must be 3ohm. I have a red coil and its 1.5 ohm. I pulled out an old black bosch from a long gone 914 that i had. It was 3 ohm. I istalled that and nothing. I tried jumpering the coil directly to the battery and that did not help either. How do i know if i have a ballast resistor? Any ideas what to check? I would love to get this back on the road before snow and salt hit for a few more drive. Your help will be appreciated. Todd
