  1. How big is the E21 rotor? I have an old pair of 1600 calipers.
  2. On a stock later 2002 motor, I'd say you would just look cool. You'd prob be better off with a 36/32 weber if you have original carb. Spend your money on tires, wheels and suspension.
  3. I'd be more concerned about having parts of my body cut off if the thing lets go. An aluminium bell housing is not much of a scatter shield.
  4. this forum doesn't cover your model. I suspect there is a six forum which might have a wiring diagram. That said, what exactly is your problem??
  5. I wouldn't take a chance for a hundred bucks. Any idea what happens if it lets go at 6000 rpm??
  6. I've seen a needle valve that was missing it's ball.
  7. BMW ground wires are usually brown. So that pair should not be attached to a screw. It doesn't look long enough to reach the relay; I suspect it would go to an un-installed circuit to do something, and likely that it's protective covering sleeve has come off/been removed. AS to your side light staying on, this might be the euro parking light arrangement, whereby you use the turn signal to light up one side of the car or the other while parked overnight. Maybe. Check for wiring diagrams on the 2002tii site.
  8. Not a whole bunch i expect. !3" rubber is hard to come by, and is a bit out of date. Prob better looking than many of the 13" alternatives.
  9. And one other thing; check floats for leaks. Shake them and listen for sloshing.
  10. I'd be looking at a few things: -those rubber O ring insulators. They are trouble. My O-rings upon close examination were cracked; they can slip out when being installed, getting equal tension top and bottom while mounted on the car is a royal pain. I went back to paper gasket. In the pics, one of yours appears to be skewed. Mine used a coiled spring washer under the nuts to allow adjusting the tension/gap. Another brand had some sort of rubber washers. You appear to have neither. Check out https://www.google.ca/search?q=dcoe+soft+mounts&espv=2&biw=2133&bih=1096&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=it1kVO7kCIqRyQTHQQ&ved=0CDIQsAQ&dpr=0.9 and Pierce Manifolds if you want to keep those. Or get the solid ti style insulators. -fuel pressure regulator. All I know is that mine runs like crap if I stray too far from 2.5. I used a fuel pressure gauge to fine tune the actual regulator, which wasn't accurate. -float levels. Italian model uses different spec than later Spanish as I recall. In any event, read posts on how to measure and adjust. Somewhere there is a chart with float levels for different models -timing. I spent a lot of time fooling with carbs until I took IE advice on setting full advance to 33 or so. Made a big difference. Also, if memory serves, Italian models take one turn out to start, Spanish 2.5. In any event, different base points. Try starting at one turn out..
  11. I'm with Peterschop: fuel filter, fuel pick up screen in tank. Do you have electric pump? If manual pump, check for grunge.
  12. the more important thing is the front timing cover. It should be attached to the head if it is milled/shaved. If not, you will have big problems getting everything sealed on the front. The rods can be done after. I would take the valve cover to align the front cover, and the bolts.
  13. well tehn, might as well bring the piston pins and get them to check the clearance on the small ends. What was the mileage on the motor?
  14. and assuming you are getting new pistons, I'd take those and ask him to match them to the bores and number them.
  15. Just in case the spindle is screwed too, you might do better to soource the whole strut and hub - used. you can buy a parts car for what BMW would want for new parts
  16. that pic is related to this https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=7lcc62nrl9Y
  17. That's about what I have with twin 40s, and that pretty much cured the spitting and rough idle
  18. scope creep - a common ailment on an old car. More of a problem with on line ordering, two day delivery and free shipping over $75.
  19. I think you will find that the exhaust system creates more pressure than the crankcase. Turbos for example. I suspect it would have been done if it worked. Why not hook it up to the air cleaner where we know there is a vacuum.
