  1. Is that the same one that's now on BAT?
  2. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1969-bmw-1600-17/ Just saw this on BAT, wonder what it will go for. Kind of similar to mine, aside from the Interior and original color. Will be interesting to see.
  3. My dad sent me this picture a few days ago and never knew a 2002 GT ever existed. I am familiar with the 1600GT by Glas, but not this. Pretty cool. Also attached is a nice article from petrolicious with some nice pictures: enjoy! https://petrolicious.com/articles/here-s-why-frua-may-have-designed-the-prettiest-bmw-2002
  4. My daughter with her favorite car at the Vintage Races at The Glen this past weekend. (She likes the Mustang way better than the 1600, always has, even when she was a toddler in her car seat!)
  5. If you're in the village Friday afternoon, I usually try to park the 1600 on 7th street just past the old Ford dealership. After that I leave the village at about 5:30 and head up the old track to my sister's house which is on the original course at the s turns at the top of the hill to watch from there. Fun Times!
  6. Granada...of course! Getting it ready to take it to the Grand Prix Historic Festival in Watkins Glen this Friday!
  7. Had to search a little to find these. This was Rikka, my first White German Shepherd, who LOVED the 1600. The would sneak into the garage, jump through the drivers side window and chill in the back seat. Often times she would refuse to get out of the 1600 until I would take her for a spin. After our drive, she would hop right out, satisfied. I really miss her!
  8. 1st pic is of my current co-pilot Lola, tellimg.me to get that Recaro back in so we can go for a ride! 2nd pic is of Renner (RIP), a white German Shepherd who loved rides in the 1600 as well. Final pic is of my first pup, Stuka, a black and tan German Shepherd who loved to ride in the Bavaria when she was young, and preferred the Mustang when she got older.
  9. Cheap, ready to race, fun, lots of track time for the money! My sons Lemons car, hopefully we will be racing it next year. That's why the ti is just fine for occasional track and autox use!
  10. May not be quite as quick as an e36 coupe or sedan, but still pretty close, I think.. However, it is a TON of fun. After driving a ti HARD for 10+ years, is very predictable in its handling. (And still pretty quick, it's a nice sleeper as well, no one is expecting this little hatchback to blow past them!) 20210628_113923.mp4
  11. Well, how about the best of both worlds! E36 up front, E30 in the rear! The picture is of my current track car, 98 318ti with the 6 cylinder swap, zf 5 speed, small case limited slip diff, ground control coilovers with Koni yellows (adjustable), ground control camber plates, all poly bushings in the suspension front and back, Eibach roll bat up front. Still have the stock seats with the Schroth 4 point harness. Kosei 17 x 8.5 with Ptenza RE71R. Will be installing a race seat and 6 point roll bar over the winter. Still street legal so I can drive it to and from events. It is a BLAST and quite a sleeper at the Glen! Video is of my son at the Glen in the ti about a month ago with the GVC. 20210629_095834.mp4 20210629_095834.mp4
  12. Nice! I watched this car at the Glen back in the day. Ran into it a couple of years ago at the vintage in Watkins Glen but is was not race ready yet. I am hoping to see it this September at the Vintage races at the Glen. I do remember seeing it at Jiri's shop in Vestal a couple of times when my dad and brothers were picking up parts!
  13. Congratulations & good luck, if you find yourself a little North and East of Western PA (The Glen) look me up! Cheers! Joe

  15. Thanks Scoob, I was just getting ready to resurrect the other post with all the pizza's in it for Ray!
  16. Sounds like fun! MESA Verde is west of Durango. That is the area that my son likes to ski!
  17. Good luck and have fun! It is a beautiful drive! If you have a chance and it's not too far out of your way, Mesa Verde is beautiful as well. The cliff dwellings there are unbelievable!
  18. If you're in Santa Fe then you are either headed to Albuquerque and I-40 (through Gallup) and on to Flgstaff, not a terribly bad drive but up some good hills west of Albuquerque. If you go north from Santa Fe you are headed near Taos and over the pass to Durango. I drove that a few years ago from Durango to Taos...in the winter...at night...in a rental car...with summer tires...you want scary, that was it. If you're headed to Durango, then south towards Gallup you'll be traveling through the Navajo (Dine) Nation. Window Rock is on that drive as well as the 4 corners. You'll also pass a little place called Fort Defiance, my son lives there, not a wealth of knowledge on '02's but lots of metric tools, jack's, stands, etc. It is a beautiful drive and Window Rock is only about a half hour away from Gallup and I-40.
  19. Not me, the salt crews in upstate NY have taken care of that for me for the next month or so!
  20. The car directly behind it kind of looks like a Bavaria!
  21. Sorry about that, I looked for it thinking it must have been posted before but must have missed it.
  22. No kidding! Those are 3 serious collector cars!
  23. https://barnfinds.com/stash-of-rare-bmws-e28-m5-2002-tii-and-323i/ My son just sent me this article and was wondering if anyone here is familiar with these? They all look pretty interesting!
  24. Zender, 1986 when it was first installed. 2nd picture, Zender after 35 years and my re-installed bumper.
