  1. Dave, I made an assumption that your bracket can be used with a Sanden compressor. Is that not the case? What R12 compressors can be used with your mount. Thanks, Byas
  2. I would love to have joined this year, but unfortunately we have a company event in SFO Fri-Sat. Still, will try to squeeze in a quick run down to Brisbane during Sat. Byas
  3. Is your distributor advancing correctly? The correct timing spec is 25deg at 2700rpm. This should give you about 4-9deg at idle (check with the TDC mark on the pulley). See if your idle advance is correct. If not, perhaps your distributor is not advancing correctly. Byas
  4. I'm trying to refit AC on my 74Tii. It originally came with a BEHR unit and I do have all the pieces. However, the engine had an ANSA exhaust installed by PO and I'm not sure if that will interfere with the BEHR unit. Also, not sure if the BEHR compressor is frozen or not (I have 2 of them). The AC shop did say they could refill with R12. If the BEHR does not work out, I would be interested in the rotary mount. How much do these run? Byas
  5. I have the same smell issue in my 74Tii. I've replaced the ring around the twist-in sender and the one around the bolt in pickup. Reduced, but still there. I'm wondering if it is from a leaking vapor expansion tank. Will pressure test the tank sometime. Byas
  6. Paul, Remove the throttle shaft from the housing and look for wear on the shaft. I'd expect the bushing itself is repairable by a machine shop or carb rebuild service or DIY. The wear on the shaft could be trickier. I ended up getting a good used throttle body from Rob. The shaft on the one that was originally in my car had worn an appreciable groove. This photo does not show the groove clearly enough, but it allowed about 0.5-1mm of radial play. I have considered fixing the groove by welding it and grinding down or using metal epoxy paste to fill the groove. I will probably try the latter. If you can fix or get fixed the bushing, I suggest you try the epoxy fix first and if that does not hold up, buy a used one (you have to buy the whole throttle body). Byas
  7. Yes, it's the '74 only deceleration retard valve. I did tell the seller about that a month or 2 ago. Byas
  8. I thought I had read somewhere that bouncing tach was indicator of a condensor issue -- but I'm not sure if this is right or not. Regarding the speedo -- When a 5 spd conversion is done you also need a longer speedo cable from an automatic model as the 5spd gbox is a bit longer. So, that may be why the speedo is not connected -- current cable may be too short. If the differential was changed, then the speedo itself needs to be changed or recalibrated. Byas
  9. I'm assuming if I use a left side door card (not the vinyl - just the card), for the right side door -- the card face that was under the vinyl would now be facing the door and vice-versa. I need just one card and don't want to spend $100 for a set to have one sitting around. So, hoping to find one good door card. Byas
  10. It matches with the same color wire on the socket. Since your choice is 2 slots on this plug, just see which of the 2 corresponding slots on the socket has the male connector, confirm that its wire is GN-GE in color, and that's it. Byas
  11. I have the passengers side one -- the one that looks like an "H". Let me know if that's what you're looking for. Byas
  12. My car came with an 00 gauge by PO. If I were to redo it, I would go smaller 1-Ga. It's connected from starter. Byas
  13. Why not just weld the bracket onto the outside of the A pillar?
  14. Worked on my pass door this weekend. I had installed the linkage bushings a few weeks ago -- what a difference. Still need to do the other door. Adjusted the window lift mechanism so that it is smooth, easy, and even. Also installed new doorbrakes from Harry. Now my kids don't have to fight with the door to keep it open. Installed 4mil plastic sheeting as moisture barrier, and new plastic sleeves for the panel clips (got these directly from a panel clip supplier for about $8 or 9/box of 25). Installed a used, but uncut in good condition door panel to replace the warped, cut ones that came with the car. Put in the springs and plastic washers for the various controls. (Still need to get some of these for the other door). Now need to do the driver's door, but the uncut door panel I bought -- while it's vinyl is in good condition, the board is a bit warped. Need to get one good board. I'm assuming left and right are interchangeable? Byas
  15. I just installed a set of 14x6 Panasports on my car, but did not weigh them. Was wondering if someone knew the specs on these. Thx! Byas
  16. Ignition -- set @ 4deg at idle & 27deg at 2700rpm (spec is 25deg at 2700rpm) with the ball (managed to hook up some wires to pull the return hose out of the way, but ended up burning the pick up of my tack so could not adjust closer, but this is close enough, right?) Idle -- hot reading, (oil, water all hot) -- 13.2 @ 900 (can try to get this closer). Full throttle uphill in 4th @ 3500 rpm --> 13.9 to 14.1 (2 runs) Full throttle uphill in 4th @ 2200 rpm --> 13.2 (1 run only and shorter than the other) Partial throttle readings between 12.7 and 15.8 -- I need to take a 1/3 to 1/4 reading. Will update with that. Byas
  17. Keep it Tan. You have a rare combination plus IMO it looks better than the more common black. B
  18. Perhaps the Pertronix has failed? Can you swap for a another one or put the points back in? Points+condensor can be got for about 20-25 at your local auto parts store. Keep as a backup. B
  19. What you found was probably not the right pump. Post link if you think it's the right one
  20. Nice cup holder -- where did you get those? I'd like to get something similar for mine. B
  21. Got my LM02 data logging working properly -- had a faulty USB cable. Idle setting adjusted to about 2.4-2.5% CO
  22. 17. Panel pieces. $10 each Email sent on these: Middle row right most piece, bottom row left and middle pieces. Thanks! Byas
  23. Jim, Did you ever check how your engine was running with the the throttle completely closed? Was there an airleak thru the warm up regulator hose? Or is the throttle not fully closed? B
