  1. Also looking for a door brake.
  2. I need a door brake. Byas
  3. I have a BEHR/York system that I'd like to mount back on the car and get it working in time for summer. I just got the condenser cleaned up and ready to mount when I noticed that my car has only 3 of the L shaped mounting brackets -- missing one lower one. Is this bracket the same for all the 02 AC condensers? I want to put a WTB ad, but don't have a part number so want to be sure what I ask for and get. Thx! Byas
  4. Congrats for staying with it and doing it the right way vs. leaving it in there and band-aiding. B
  5. What is the offset on your Panasport wheel? The front looks like it protrudes out just a tad. Do you have a picture that shows a better angle of whether it protrudes or not? I'm considering purchasing a set of Panasports and this picture is giving me pause. Thx! Byas
  6. Do check to see it is properly adjusted as well. At 68F the piston that rises up on the regulator (the one with the slot in it) should be flush with the top of the regulator. If it is not, it can be adjusted - search for post from me on how-to. Then check the gap at the enrichment screw. Byas
  7. Actually narrower end goes down into the shock housing according to factory manual pics from C.D.
  8. I don't think so. The position of the shaft doe not matter so you will not impact that. Do you really need to remove the regulator though? Can you pull off the hoses and view with a mirror? Byas
  9. If the error is constant 10mph -- you can probably pull off the speedo needle and reposition it. If the error varies then the it needs recalibration. Buy a used good one or even buy a new one avail at Walloth & Nesch.
  10. Email sent - re: rear trailing arm
  11. Isn't the mechanical leverage of the brake proportional to the area of the caliper pistons divided by that of the master cylinder. So bigger MC dia with stock calipers decreases leverage and so you have to apply more force but with less travel. On a Tii the caliper piston area increases as well so leverage is not impacted.
  12. I've considered/imagined that innovate gauge with a custom face that matches the rest of the car -- with the cross and BMW logo. B
  13. What's the offset on the panasports? Interested.
  14. 1971 - VW 1302LS RHD convertible. Second owner - owned since 1974. One that I regret letting go...
  15. Steve, I had that problem recently and in my case it was because the spring had come off on one side. I posted a detailed repair w/pics -- if you have the same issue. http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,50/page,viewtopic/t,369161/sid,1fd6320f3800433ce9ff5fd91a730f1e/ Byas
  16. Sounds stock. I was confused as well. THe stock one is not designed to be pulled up. You unlock it by pulling up on the inside lever, not by pulling up. SO it is designed only to be pushed down. Also, when you insert the anti-vibration grommets that are probably missing, it will stick out a bit more. Just installed mine on the pass side yesterday. Big diff. Byas
  17. Mike, Can you post a how-to on your method? Byas
  18. I've been talking to Al about 3point rear belts for my '74. I'd like a version where the roller is in the stock location under the seat and the 3rd mount point is on the c-pillar. I'd read somewhere that the c-pillar has a threaded hole welded on already. I'd like some pics/references so that I can locate them and confirm I have them before I go this route. Thanks! Byas
  19. So, Black till 73, gray from 74-on, but Black now NLA.
  20. Ken, Will send u PayPal for the distributor. Thx Byas
  21. Which years had black caps and which had grey? thx, Byas
  22. I have word, pdf, or jpg versions. Not sure how to upload here. Email me and I can send or let me know where to look up how to upload file. Byas
  23. Couple of small projects today while it was miserable outside. I've been looking for a readable version of the Key to the 73-on Tiii wiring diag. Ended up recreating it. So, if anyone else wants it -- here it is... Next I turned my attention to the faded side markers on my car. I thought I'd try a couple of coats of Tamiya clear red followed by a clear coat. Turned out reasonably well. Let's see how long it will hold up. No downside any how. Byas
