  1. To Confirm: The distributor in the car has centrifugal and vacuum advance
  2. Good Afternoon, The car is an 1974 TII, I believe it was used as a parts car by a previous owner. Somewhere along the road I believe I heard the distributor was out of a 1969 model. I will re-read all of the responses. I appreciate them all. Question: Does the BB indicate a specific advance. IE: 25 Degrees. The manual indicate a 1974 TII is to be timed to 25 Advance at 2400 RPM. To get a baseline before I get the proper timing light does this mean i set the idle at 2400 RPM and then should see the BB???
  3. Would the best play be to replace the distributor? And if so, with what? dont have much funding so if I can get it to work with what I have that would be preferable
  4. Attached shows vacuum advance working Appears to be be counter clockwise IMG_0131.MOV
  5. It appear that the plenum pulls the points counter clockwise another question. I believe I time to the ball on the fly wheel. I also marked the crank pully. What degree of advance is the ball and at what RPM do it time to. I see a lot of info on max advance but haven't gotten that far. Thanks again
  6. I have read multiple times that the Tii does not have vacuum advance. Mine does. Is it a problem? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. It is also smoking from under distributor. Oil I think Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Ran good for about 2 hours well. It seems to get far worse once warmed up. I had the tank done at a radiator shop but thinking it may still be bad. Lines, fuel pump, etc are all new Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Put it all back together and ran good for an hour. Now trouble stating and sluggish i would think sludge or something from tank. Had it dipped at radiator shop and plumbed all new from tank to kugel. Also so after heats up it is smoking from either under distributor or exhaust manifold. Need to figure that one out high note. Registers it for first time in 15 years and had it on road.!!!!
  10. Most excellent. Beautiful motor Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I messed up and removed all of the fuel lines at the same time. Don't remember how they map. Is it. Front Drivers side= Cylinder 1 Front Passenger= Cylinder 2 Rear Driver=Cylinder 3 Rear Passenger=Cylinder 4 How do I confirm?
  12. Thanks Paul. I got it apart today and soaking it on carb cleaner. If this doesn't work I will take you up on your offer Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. i can't get one of the injectors apart. Can it be heated with a torch or will it get damaged. Once CE back together I will test per procedure in Kugel manual
  14. I also am pulling the injectors. I can't get one of them apart. Have it soaking in penetrating oil
  15. Problem is back. Per video car runs sting at higher rpm. It has a wicked miss at 1800 rpm. Car stalls coming to a stop cleanened the banjo input filter and return on Kugelfisher. Only thing I have been working on is alternator any ideas? IMG_0110.MOV
  16. Cleaned the inlet Banjo and screen and the return pressure valve. I threw plugs at it as well and put it all back together. It runs 95% better. There is slight hesitation in wrapping up but it runs pretty well now. Far Far better. Thanks to all for your help and patience. Very Very happy that it is running better. Regards, Buck
  17. Thank you Jim, Was able to reassemble the return pressure valve and put it back in. Same worked for the inlet banjo. Pulled the screen and cleaned it. Put new plugs in although the other looked good. I will put it all back together and then see if any change. I will then pull the injectors and take them apart. I did order McCatrney's 2002 restoration guide from Amazon. Due to arrive on Thursday. Thanks again to all. Buck
  18. Stupid question. I took the pressure regulator valve on the return out and took it apart and cleaned. How do I get the little horseshoe clip back in. It sprung out twice and lost. Half hour on hands and knees looking for it. Bummer
  19. i took the injector apart but did not take the Prindle out as I was afraid of it. any trick in taking it out of the bottom half of the injector. Do I pull it out or push it from the other side. Don't want to break anything.
  20. I pulled each plug wire while running and it had a negative impact on all 4... I will check the fuel lines this morning. Forgot that piece. I did notice that I am now getting a low POP, minimal backfire while the car is idling.
  21. I removed the fuel injectors and soaked each one in injector cleaner for a day. Just got it all back together. Same issue. Seems like a wicked miss. changed plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor, condenser and points. No change. Could the distributor be bad? How can I check. Can existing distributor be upgraded to electronic ignition or do I need to purchase a new distributor. Any other ideas would be appreciated
  22. i marked the pully and it does appear advance. Have no idea how to measure actual advance. Could a bad coil cause this behavior. It looks ancient. I tested it with a volt meter as documented and it tested ok.
