Thanks JP.  It's a one-off I made from a custom-color E36 LTW Flag decal set. I got the other part on my right rear fender...

    Tom

Very nice decal pic looks like paint. When you get a chance post a picture of the rear.

I thought about doing something like that in gray also.

…only because it’s now an antique.

My 02’s birthday is today, being produced exactly 46 years ago. Given my 76er is a mere youngtimer, born within the last thou made, that means all y’all are older… Rock on.

    But it got me thinkin’…

It’s my understanding that it’s most common to note the distinction twix Classic and Antique cars at 45 years, and given we are now near all over that age boundary, we’re classics no more…

    F that.

The 2002 will remain a classic FOREVER. ;)

This week in 76, the Billboard 200 featured the Stones “Black and Blue” at #1. It’s cool to think of Wolfgang  and his factory mates rocking out to that tune building my lil’ Bavarian beastie. (originally Polaris now appropriately Cosmosschwarz)

… blow out my candles for me. ;)

Is the Motorsport flag paint or a decal. Either way I like. ?

  3. I think I figured out my 3k plus miss.  When I redid the O2 sensor my arm pushed the air filter down. When the car warmed up ran it thru the gears and my miss was back.

Open hood and find the air filter pushed down. I did the same thing yesterday when working on stuff but didn't put the two together.

Pulled filter up and ran like a champ half hour drive home.

On the Innovate site, they discuss bung length and claim that there is no need to dangle the sensor way out into the exhaust stream.  They say that doing so can lead to overheating/failure and suggest using a one inch long bung.

Here are some tips about extending the life of the sensor --

Have you checked the resistance in the rotor you removed?  They're supposed to be 5k ohms.  (usually say 5K on the underside of Bosch rotors)  I only have one that tests "bad" in the bunch of used ones up in the shop.

There were several different rotors specified over the years.  I have a catalog that tells which rotor goes in each distributor and will look yours up, if you tell me the model number.  (It is a Bosch catalog/reference book).  Feel free to send me a PM.

I get many miles out of caps and rotors.

You could reinstall the old rotor and see if the problem comes back and do the same with the cap independently.

It could be that there was a loose connection at the cap and swapping them solved that, but I don't see why that would be rpm dependent.

    Tom

Thanks Tom I appreciate the info.  I have an AEM AFR and they are kinda known for 02 sensors to go bad.

Good idea on cap/rotor  will swap it out and see.

Will check it out with my multi meter.

    again thanks

  5. Adjusted the steering box just a little. DIY Front End alignment, tracks much better.

Had my o2 sensor go bad after maybe 700 miles wtf. It's under warranty so will see.

I also started to get a 3000 rpm plus ignition miss. Installed a new cap and rotor and everything appears okay.  What do people get mileage wise out of caps/rotors ?

This cap has only 3k or  4k at most.   Any thoughts ?

  6. I couldn't agree more that we need to support people that build/sell 02 parts and services.

I think one hand doesn't know what the other is doing , is business as usual at IE.

My last order was a set of 8mm wheel spacers,  pretty  simple request.

The center bore was to small and needed sanding with a dremel to fit.

The outside diameter was a 1/2 inch to big and hit the caliper.

It was over 11 days to get any response from them.

I ended up having a friend turn them to correct outside diameter since it took so long for a reply.

I do want to support them but they don't make it easy.  ?

  7. They sent me the wrong parts a week ago, per usual.

Took them over a week to get back to me on how they wanted to handle it.

Second email mentioned a credit card stop payment and they replied the next day.

I have a 33%  on getting any part or the right part.   Good Luck with this.
