Nicely done. I bought the '72 brackets for my '73. Just need to get motivated. What did you do with the bumper wings? Isn't there an attachment bolt that will now sit further towards the rear of the car? Did u drill some new holes in the fenders?

    This,  need a side view

Not much in the way of an appropriate response to this cept maybe get bent dude

No disrespect meant, just a little attempt at humor. ?  Heck you might generate more revenue with ads then me with a subscription.

Seriously though I would be very surprised this is a cash cow for someone.

Car forums are dying on the internet and I would hate for this to be one of them.

The site is a treasure and more informative then the factory service manual I think.

Whomever owns the site does it for the passion of 2002s not the money I'm guessing.

If he makes a few bucks or puts a kid through college, good for him her they them.

No way, no jumping here, its free. Besides, it may be a pretty fat business tax deduction for those that own. Did I mention ad revenue??

  4. The site isn't perfect but it's got damn good.  I had a 73 tii in the 90's and seen it a few years back. That started my search to get another one.  Researching I found this site and quickly realized just about any question or problem could be answered here.  One of the reasons I took the leap and purchased another 2002 is because of FAQ.  ?

Suggest you mount the header in the car and mark it for bung placement.  Get it in the wrong place and the sensor bumps into something.

This ^^^  and bung size is dependant on what O2 sensor you use.  I think the smaller one is more  common.

That's what I have on my header with an O2 AIM sensor.

    Check these out:

    https://vintagecarleds.com/

I find these interesting. I have Cibie with H4 bulb and I'm not overly impressed so far. I need to add a relay and align better but don't know if that will be enough.  The vintage lights look pretty correct and not off a spaceship. Anyone ever seen these in action ?

I have LED's in my dash and love them. Lights are dimmable and give a nice white modern light. No complaints.

  7. Lot of places use the box within a box, that and the foam boards work well if packed tight.

Please don't use the plastic tubs. I help a friend that has a transmission shop and those tubs come in shattered more times then coming in one piece. Plus cold weather they get brittle and break in several places.

He does heavy duty box and has a spray foam machine.

MM box ain't bad, I would use a little more wood and more foam.

PIA to box right but worth it.

  8. My Son had the pleasure to work on a Mercedes Gullwing, their shop did all the paint and bodywork.

The budget for the car is around a million dollars for the restoration.  If you have it why not ?

They do mostly 60's and 70's muscle car resto mods.  Builds average from 100k to 600k with a two year waiting list.

There's a lot of money out there and I'm glad people like to spend it cars.

If you use LED bulbs, (1) make sure they're dimmable (2) don't use one in the alternator (charge) socket--it'll screw up your charging system as it depends on an incandescent bulb there to function properly and (3) unless you've changed your flasher  bulbs--and the flasher itself--to the type that'll workwith LEDs, leave the turn signal flasher bulb in the cluster as an incandescent.  Otherwise strange things will happen to the flashers.

If you decide not to go with LED illumination, at least replace all the lighting bulbs in the cluster.  Incandescent bulbs get dim with age well before they burn out.

Mike,  I have updated flasher and everything works as it should. I do have a LED bulb in the alternator warning light.

Been installed a summer with no problems,,Yet.  I can change it out to incandescent so everything is correct.

Half tempted to change out turn signal also cause its very bright at night.

Can you expand a bit on how it affects the  alternator.

    Thanks

    Jim

  10. As most  I get lots of questions about it. I'm positive it being Orange is a factor also.  Some have no Idea what it is.

Twice I've had people think its a Fiat, others know exactly what it is or have owned one in college or military.

One gentleman followed me to the Post Office and politely asked he could look at it and ask me a few questions.

We had a great 15 minute conversation, he had a rust bucket in college but loved it. I thought it was funny cause he looked to be thirty at most.  I think it made both are days.
