That looks great! I’ve got to try that on my Tii. What polish did you use
Thanks, They are in pretty good shape so didn't need a lot. The black slats were all different lengths and OCD got to me.
I used red Scotchbrite pad cut into small pieces, then steel wool #0000 that I had. I polished with Simichrome and a Mothers PowerCone. The backside was pretty grimey with years of filth on it so just the red Scotchbrite.
I used Scotch brand Black Colored tape that someone here recommended off eBay. It's inch and a half wide, just trim with a sharp blade. Takes a roll for one side. Six rolls for ten bucks was the best deal by far.

Surprised no one mentioned just tuning the carbs. Do a little reading on Weber DCOE carbs. Then post what jets, emulsion tube and air correctors your running. If its running that rich would suspect the jets first. A little tuning and you might be surprised on how well it can run.

I had to weld in new tabs to hold the "masonite" pads in place. The original little 1/8" rods were rusty and brittle.
Does your car still have the foam/rubber/foam mats under the carpet in the front footwells? I like that stuff too. It absorbs sound and isolates your feet from vibration, which makes the car feel quieter.

Is the whole floor pan a new metal piece. Very curious about both seat floor mounts. are they available ? If so from whom ?

I have a Interstate AGM battery. My son just purchased two Interstate Batteries at Costco for $86. each for his Duramax.
Were both happy with Interstate, would recommend. I looked at Optima, still a very good battery but not the end all be all that they once were. Would be happy with either one.

$800. plus is not to bad I guess. States it doesn't come with all the connectors which could be a problem I would think.
I seen another shop sell them for almost 2k, thought that was a bit excessive.
I did see the Wheeler Dealer episode also. Looked like they did a nice job making them.

Ad states it as a "homage". More pics would help for sure.

I used the NAPA EL-13 turn signal relay. People have had problems with the standard relay and LEDs.
I would check with regular bulbs first to see if they work.

Tons of info on the relay and problems associated with it.

My guess two to five shop hours easy. How nice do you want it to look ?

Worked with magnesium wheels for five years. Yes their very fragile for sure.
When they break they tend to break big time, like two or three pieces.
Cool wheel but wouldn't run on the street.

Want to like it,, but no

My 2002 came with the TEP style one that seems to be most popular. Battery is in trunk also. I don't recall seeing a bolt on style one besides the Kooglewerks one. The battery and bar take up to much space I feel.
My Son is a fabricator so I would like to make one that bows upward more as opposed to straight across and could be just bolt on.
Would move to a battery under the rear seat for more trunk room. Not a priority but on the list some day.

Agreed, don't think its attached if it moves that much.
Mine came out hard, worried I would break it.

$40. in Superbrightleds bulbs and I was good to go. They are plenty bright.
Would be curious to see them side by side.
At $400. would definitely need to see in person.
