  1. I wouldn't worry to much about breaking that diff.  Agreed a LSD would be better, best.

The older DSM cars are turbo with quite a few putting out 500 whp, with very little tuning you can get

250-300 whp.  Something that a 2002 won't be doing. That Jack's article is a bit sky is falling since they want you to buy their transmission. That design has a very low failure rate caused by lots of whp.   For the average 02  guy I think you'll be fine.

    Chris ...

there might be some misalignment of your expectations ...

    'nice/great' versus 'roundie' versus 10K

there is a very similar thread going on in the 'wanted' section about the exact same ask ...

    read that for perspective ...

i think it is the classic 'pick two' situation for 'nice' versus 'roundie' versus '10k'

that said ... we are here to help

    i love this search:

it has everything from 1602s to 1802s to 2002s ... and all years ...

too bad ebay doesn't like booleans ... it would work there too

    best of luck!

    geoff

What does the 160* 180* 200* add to the search ?

  3. Vredestein has been around forever, has a very good rep. More of a touring tire.

Federal is made in Taiwan IIRC. Drifters love them, big with the JDM crowd.

Federal has had some  quality issues with tread separation in past.

Their sticky they don't last long but their cheap.

Would depend what your plans are driving wise.
