  1. You would have to see it in person to judge the quality of the work done on it. Also: one person's "rust-free" is another man's rustbucket. Same with engines: he could say the engine is flawless & you could find out it's very tired & smokey! However, it could be a very solid '02. I want to know why the seller is selling it after all that TLC & $$ he's spent on it.
  2. Great job! I need to drop mine off at your place for a little while. Enjoy it now that it's better than new.
  3. Damn, GWB, we agree again! I HATE every song Billy Joel ever had anything to do with. Plus he's a lousy driver. He got drunk & drove a Citroen 2CV into some old lady's house since he's full of wine and bad songs!! ha ha.
  4. Craig: I thought about using the tape, but I didn't want to do delicate "surgery", so I went with the chrome aluminum paint. I put it all together & it seems brighter, though I'm looking at it during midday.
  5. I pulled the assemblies out yesterday and cleaned them before applying quick-drying enamel (rattlecan) as a primer. This am, I applied Krylon chrome aluminum (shiny) paint. Looks very good so far. It needs to dry before reinstallation. BTW, I masked off the bulb sockets w/electrical tape. Who knows -- brighter taillights may save my life one day. Thanks to Mike Pugh for sending me a nice replacement for the driver's side!! (A p.o. had used the wrong bulb which had partially melted the socket for the running light in my old one.)
  6. How about heaving & hurling to: "Sometimes When We Touch" Baaaarrrrrffffff!
  7. You had enough Sahara '02's, so I wasn't needed too badly. Glad y'all had fun. Here it's time for new plug wires & a conversion from the K&N air filter to the orig. set-up. Just put in a new fuel filter since the old one was at least 7 yrs. old! How about we all meet in Hermann again?? Ark. is a loooong way from here......
  8. That is the CORRECT answer. We lived at 1116 Canterbury Dr. Southampton connected w/our street - we lived at the corner of the 2 streets. There was a Ronnie Wagner a year older than me and maybe 2-3 sisters? (Terri? , Charlegail?) Small world!!! Their mom had a 67/68 white Mustang convertible back then.
  9. My nomination: "We Didn't Start the Fire" (Billy Joel) ARRRGGHH! (puking noises in the background) That song ruined my shopping trip. Kroger plays crap, the music is better at Trader Joe's!!
  10. There were some Wagners living 2 doors away back then. Don't know if it is the same family.....Hmmmm. It would be fun to meet up some time. I liked living in LA quite a bit.
  11. My uncle is battling Mesothelioma and has beaten the odds so far. Statistically, he should have died a year or two ago, but thankfully he is alive. I work in health care --- you never know. Stay positive and keep up your fight against the cancer. Good luck. (& get back into an '02 asap)
  12. Hi Don, the JAM adapter is a metal part that seats the original air cleaner on top of the Weber carb. It screws into place. My son Alec, will likely start college at Ohio Univ. in Athens, OH next fall. My brother attended LSU in the 70's. (ChE grad.) My family lived in Alexandria, LA from 1968 to 1972.
  13. Yeah, wondered about the fellow in the P-car. The cabriolet would have been less jarring. Suppose it would have been chilly driving it about in place of the Porsche. Good to see you, Bob.
  14. Find me one that looks nice. How's $5 + shipping costs? THanks.
  15. Don: we must be doing the same thing. I have the air cleaner & the JAM adapter. Working on getting the other parts, too. I am switching from the K&N to a stock set up. Next time I head to Baton Rouge to see my brother, we'll have to meet up somewhere 1/2-way in between so I can see your '02.
  16. P/N: 13711258017 2 armed & P/N: 13711260818 1 armed. Thanks.
  17. Do you still have the summer/winter air box?? I could use one. Thx.
  18. Jim, it was very good to get better acquainted. It was well worth the 380 mile drive we've decided! Your tii bested Dieter. I managed to get 25 MPG. We had a great time thanks to those wonderful 02GROUP members. I will be inspired to set up an extra-special MW '02 GTG sometime in 2010. Y'all are invited, so I'll keep you informed. Hope everyone had a safe trip home with no breakdowns. Thanks to all of our wonderful hosts!
  19. Somehow I missed this story, Jason. Glad you made a new '02-friend. Make sure he gets on the FAQ and becomes part of the larger '02 community. He makes me think of my pal Brian who is a drummer and uses his Sahara roundie to get to gigs all over the place.
  20. I didn't see that lime-ade 2000 coupe on TV. It would be fun to talk with them and see that car up close. Big-time racing is just not interesting to me, but the Panamerica, LeMons, the BABE rally ---- all cool stuff to me!
  21. Alec & I were watching a show on TV about this race. Lots of old Mustangs, an old Volvo, a couple old Falcons, a Studebaker, a Jag, etc. It looked like FUN. They also got to eat some excellent-looking Mexican food enroute. I was surprised at how aggressive & fast an old (modified!) Falcon could be.
  22. Two satisfied customers here! It could easily double in size next October.
  23. Ask Mike Self, Dave Mason, & Harry B. They were all there. I was in the Cincinnati area for Jason (Eurotrash) Gipson's 1st annual Rivertown Gearbuster's gtg. We had a very good time. We drove through Batavia, Indian Hill, Loveland, Milford and parts of rural Clermont County. Stopped in on the Pumpkin Run auto show also. I am already looking forward to next year's drive & gtg. Next stop: '02berfest with the '02GROUP!
