JATO!!!

That, or a railgun!

.....oh, you said simple. Here's a good thread that covers a number of areas. Diff, flywheel, and reducing weight are all a good places to start.

Roadhog is correct: large chicks require more cubic inches.  This is where the saying "I should'a had a V8" originally came from.

2002Targa's solution is a one-shot speed boost.  Make sure you have plenty of road in front of you when you press the button.  Also plan on an extensive rebuild -- assuming you can find enough parts of the car to make restoration possible.

My solution is simpler and anyone can do it in five minutes.  The necessary parts are scissors and black electrical tape.  Carefully tape over the redline area of the tach (or if you're in a hurry just cover the whole thing).  Keep your right foot on the floor and don't bother using the clutch.  Make sure to let us know how you make out!

Make sure your car is in optimum tune . New plugs , cap & rotor, points and condenser if you have them. clean your air filter or change it. change your fuel filter Set the timing till it pings then back it down until it doesn't. Your car will love you for it. use good gas
